When ex-military and no-nonsense security expert YN is reluctantly recruited by retired bodyguard Julius to protect global icon Beyoncé during his leave, she expects a spoiled diva and a temporary headache. What she doesn't expect is the quiet bond...
A/N: Yall wanted some drama right? Just messy smh lol
Beyoncé was at the mirror, putting on her earrings, looking every bit like the goddess she was — smooth brown skin glowing, lips glossed just enough to make me stare, and a long dress that hugged her just right. I sat at the edge of the bed, stealing glances like I was trying to memorize her. She was going to her mothers for a family thing while I had plans with Teyana.
She caught me in the reflection and smiled softly. "You got somewhere to be, right?"
I smirked. "I do. You tryna make me miss it?"
She turned around, walking toward me slowly. "Isn't Teyana waiting for you?"
I nodded, checking the latest text that had just come through: "I got a surprise for you.." I tilted my head. "She's being mysterious. I honestly don't know what she got planned."
I stared at the message, then glanced at the clock. It was late, but not too late. And knowing Tey, "surprise" could mean anything — a pop-up performance, a spontaneous tattoo, or something even crazier.
Beyoncé stepped between my legs and placed her hands on my shoulders. "Well... have fun. Just don't have too much fun."
I grinned, looking up at her. "You jealous already?"
She leaned down and kissed me — soft and slow at first, like honey warming on the stove. But then it deepened, her lips parting mine, her hand gently cradling my jaw as she kissed me like she didn't want me to go. Like she was trying to remind me who I belonged to.
By the time she pulled back, I was breathless.
I blinked up at her, dazed. "Damn... what was that for?"
Her smile was subtle, but her eyes said everything. "Just so you don't forget what's waiting for you when you come back."
I stood up, wrapping my arms around her waist. "How am I supposed to leave now?"
"You're not," she whispered, pressing her lips to mine again, quick this time. "But you will. And you'll behave."
I chuckled. "Barely."
We stood there, bodies pressed close, like the rest of the world could wait. My phone buzzed again — Teyana texting "I'll be at the spot soon. Hurry up!"
I groaned. "I guess I better go."
The music thumped through the floor, smooth R&B melting into the bass like velvet. I sat at the corner of the VIP booth waiting on Tey. I had on my cleanest fit — something casual but still cold enough to turn heads. I just needed a night out with my friend.
When I looked up, Teyana strutted in like she owned the place. But she wasn't alone.
Right behind her was Gabriella.
Gabriella.
My ex.
