As everyday on hot ass Fiji grew more and more chaotic, Olandria was convinced that she joined the wrong dating show.

There was no way this was the Love Island USA she signed up for? She expected hot men to ogle, sisters to bond with, sexy challenges to get the heart pumping. She even anticipated a couple of tears, a shouting match here and there.

And there was that!

But she sure as hell didn't sign up to be Huda's babysitter. Not at all.

But here she was, alongside the girls, seated in Soul Ties to make sure Huda didn't pummel poor Iris for no reason.

"This is ridiculous," Chelly huffed under her breath as the duo finally left Soul Ties and went into the dressing room. With all the cameras around and the microphone around their neck, they tried to be cautious with the things they said. But Chelly's eyebrows were furrowed and she looked a second away from having a nervous breakdown.

"It's okay, Chelly," Olandria said with a sigh, getting up and immediately wrapping her arms around the girl. It was just the natural way of things—everyone freaked out, and here Olandria was to calm them down.

It sucked to have to go back to playing this role though. After that private island, being massaged by a big strong country man and talking about how she wanted to feel vulnerable for once, she hated that the island was beginning to feel less and less secure.

"Chells, you okay?"

Olandria spun around to see the pretty Cierra opening the door and strutting over. Without hesitation, she joined in on the hug. "What's wrong, babe?"

"There's just too much shit going on. We shouldn't have to keep dealing with that—I came here to look good and get a man, not manage a crash out," Chelly answered, resting her head on Cierra's arm.

"Girl, you can still do that," Cierra replied, easily, stroking a braid out of Chelly's face. "I mean, I know I'm still doing that at least. And plus you've got two guys chasing you—cheer up."

Chelly beamed, big and pretty, at Cierra and they hugged again.

"Ola, you still gotta tell us about the date!" Cierra squealed, sitting in her chair. Now the two girls had their full attention on her. Oh fuck.

Olandria sat up straight and began. "I mean, it was nice! Once again, we were on a private island. Jalen and I walked around, and then we took turns massaging each other-"

"Was it sexy?" Chelly asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

Sexy? Olandria barked out a laugh. "I mean—it was intimate, I guess. I got to tap into his mental, you know I like that. And...it was just nice yeah."

Oh, she was doing it again. Saying all the things she needed to say, omitting what she wanted to say. But saying the truth would be complicating things and she didn't want to complicate anything. Not with how complicated things were already becoming.

But Chelly and Cierra seemed to notice that Olandria was hiding something. She cleared her throat and looked in the mirror, fixing her hair. "Look, if America wants Jalen and I to couple up, then the least I can do is enjoy this connection. And I do feel a spark, so I don't want to act like I don't."

"And Taylor?"

Olandria shifted in her seat. What about Taylor? "I mean, I kissed him when I came back! I'm exploring a connection with him too, don't worry."

Cierra and Chelly must've sensed that Olandria wasn't going to say anything else, so they quickly changed the subject to Hannah, reminiscing on Charlie's departure. Good—Olandria preferred to be the observer, not the observed.

A knock went at the door. "Come in!"

The door swung open. Cierra brightened up. "Hey Nic!"

Olandria was still always taken aback by how tall this white man was.

"Cierra," he said with his cheesy smile, swaggering over to her. He threw his arm over her shoulder quickly and pressed a quick kiss to her lips. "Wanna play ping pong?"

"Okay," she said with a giggle. "Let me fix myself up first."

And that was the shit that made Olandria jealous.

Not to be ungrateful, or anything. Taylor and Jalen liked her, and expressed it, and it was nice to be liked. But sometimes it felt like Taylor needed someone to hold his hand to do things like kiss her and plan things for her. And sometimes it felt like Jalen was too busy admiring her to make time to get to know her—the actual her.

And then, here was Nic, who had no problem showing Cierra affection and getting to know her. Maybe it was the smart thing to do. After the whole fiasco with Bell-a, he told Cierra he would settle down. And he did.

Olandria wasn't necessarily jealous, but she wished her men had Nic qualities. That was all.

"Chelly, Olandria," he cooed. "How you ladies feeling?"

"I'm just preparing for whatever's in store tonight," Chelly replied.

Nic huffed, eyes going big, and they laughed at the dumb face he made.

Before she could turn back around, he called "Olandria~" and smirked stupidly at her. "Snuck out on a little date, huh? How was it?"

She smiled and put her beauty products away. "I diddd and it was good. No complaints."

Nic raised an eyebrow. "He did all the right things?" He was still smiling, but his voice sounded a little serious.

Olandria kept her smile, although she could feel her eyebrows twitch. "What, you worried about me?"

He laughed, rubbing Cierra's arm. "Just don't want you switching up on Taylor, Ola."

Olandria returned the laugh, although it felt a little fake coming out of her mouth. Of course he was looking out for Taylor. "Well, tell Taylor to step up his game."

Cierra stood up, ready to go. Nic nodded as he lead Cierra out the door. "I'll deliver the message."

And then the duo was gone.

Chelly eyed the door suspiciously. "Do you think he's serious about her."

Olandria furrowed her eyebrows. "Why wouldn't he be? He only talks to her, doesn't really kiss anyone during challenges."

Chelly whipped her head at her with a look of awe. "Bitch did you forget yesterday's challenge? Got Wood?"

And now Olandria was remembering it. Remembering the way she entered the cabin, the way his hands cupped her jaw, the way he kissed her like he'd rather do that than breathe, the familiar rush that always filled her body when Nic kissed her because he always kissed her with every fiber of his being.

"It was a challenge," tumbled out of her dry mouth, as she quickly stood up. "Cierra's got nothing to worry about."

Olandria pretended not to notice Chelly watch her as she left the dressing room.
