You walk down the busy road, listening to music with your earbuds. You don't pay any mind to the people everywhere, even though it's never usually this busy. You just keep walking, switching songs once they get to the boring parts.

In the brief second where you're between songs, you can hear music. It's not yours, it's coming from up ahead.

You follow the stream of people out of curiosity and since you have nothing better to be doing. It's not like you have a job at the moment.

There's a crowd gathered in a usually empty square, where influencers usually film dances. Occasionally if there's a really good dancer people will stop to watch, but never anything like this.

You manage to peek between heads to spot a flash a bright colour dashing around. When more people shift, you see that there's five men in perfect sync.

Jinu is one of them.

Jinu, the annoying, irritating, absolutely infuriating man from yesterday. The one who harassed you (okay maybe he was just up in your business) and gave you his phone number. You had not called him back, and nor will you.

You hate that the song is kind of catchy, and you discreetly add it to your playlist. It's a secret that you will die with, however.

The others with him are new to you. You haven't seen them around, not that the neighbourhood is small, and you have a feeling you would have recognized their faces.

One of them has red hair that curls ever so slightly to frame his face. His lips are full and eyes slightly hooded as he goes through the dance moves.

Another one glides into your view, teal hair falling just to his perfectly manicured eyebrows. His nose is adorably small, and you hear an elderly woman next to you whisper about how her grandsons aren't as put together as he is.

The next one that you notice has hair draping across his entire face, except for the tip of his nose and his pink lips. Pointed earrings dangle from his earlobes as he spins with the movements.

The last one that you don't know has pink hair shaped like a heart that hangs just past his broad shoulders. It's slightly wavy at the tips and his mouth seems to be permanently curved into a smug smirk.

And then, of course, there's Jinu. With his long lashes and tapered waist, you would recognize him anywhere.

The song ends, and the men all bow. Jinu's eye catches yours, and he ghosts his hand over the pink-haired one's arm. He seems to murmur something to the other man before stepping forwards.

"Hello," Jinu greets the crowd, bright teeth on full display. "That was our debut song, Soda Pop!" He waits a moment for the crowd's excited tittering to come to a stop before he continues. "We are the Saja Boys, and we're so excited to get to share our music with you!"

You blow out a breath and turn around, intent on heading back home. You just manage to pop your earbuds back in when a hand catches your wrist.

"Hey," Jinu says. The crowd seems to have parted for him to get to you, the nearby people watching on with glassy eyes. His lips quirk into a smile. "Where do you think you're going?"

That statement is ominous, and rings alarm bells in your head. Jinu tugs you over to the rest of the group, and you catch a couple heated glares get sent your way.

You wrench yourself free, scoffing at Jinu. "You think you can just touch me?"

He cocks his head, reaching out to twirl a strand of your hair in his fingers. "Can't I?"

You slap his hand away with a smack that resonates in the now silent space. The crowd seems to be holding their breath to see how he'll react.

Jinu's eyes flash with something dark before his expression smoothes out. He laughs, and the people nearby nervously join in. He gestures to you, facing the audience again. "Our spirited manager, everyone! Responsible for all this, so a round of applause for her!"

The clapping drowns out your confused protests. You didn't agree to this. You didn't even have any idea that he was a soon-to-debut idol.

Then the one with hair shielding his face approaches you, forcing you into a hug. You try to push away, but he presses something to your nose that you make the mistake of inhaling.

Your eyes flutter, but he scoops you up. Everything grows hazy from there, but you distantly hear Jinu telling the crowd that you get fainting spells, and that the heat must have triggered one.

There are murmurs of concern, but you can't say anything. You're incapable of calling for help as you're carried away and to an unknown future.

When you finally wake, your head is pounding and your body is warm. Those are the two things you know before reality comes crashing back to you. It worsens your headache and makes you groan in pain.

"She's awake," you hear someone say.

Something brushes over your forehead, and you force your eyes open. Jinu stares down at you, a soft smile curving his lips.

"How do you feel?" he questions, voice tinged with faux concern. You can hear how fake it is.

"Gimme a second," you rasp, slowly sitting up. He helps you and props a pillow up behind you. "Jinu..."

"Yes?" Jinu leans closer, eyes fluttering half-way shut. His hand slides to your thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Do you need something?"

You backhand him and his face whips to the side. He closes his eyes, bringing a finger up to touch his lips. He frowns when it comes back with blood.

You settle back against the pillows, watching with satisfaction as Jinu slides off the bed you've been placed in. Yes, you've been kidnapped, but seeing him like that makes it just a little bit worth it.

"I'll get the ropes," the one that drugged you says, getting to his feet. He sits back down when Jinu holds up a hand.

"She's fine," Jinu says. "Just confused."

"And currently being held against my will," you add, wincing as your headache throbs harder. "Jinu, let me go. I don't know what you think you're doing, but as a former manager I can tell you for sure that this won't be good for your idol image."

Jinu ignores you and sweeps a hand out at the other members. "I forgot to introduce you, didn't I? This is Mystery, Abs, Baby, and Romance."

You blink. "Like, their birth names? Or their artist names?"

Abs leans against a wall, arms crossed over his chest. "Does it matter?"

"I... I guess not." You return your attention to Jinu. "Why did you abduct me? I haven't done anything to you!"

"But we could work so well together." Jinu exhales and his shoulders slump. He lifts his gaze back to your face, pushing some hair out of his eyes. "You don't have a job right now, and we happen to be in need of a manager."

"This is a very odd interview," you dryly say. You suspect there's more he's not telling you, though.

"Consider our offer," Jinu says as he stands to his full height. He flicks a hand at Baby, exchanging a look. "I have to go tend to other matters, but you'll be well-taken care of."

Baby approaches, settling in an armchair in the corner. He inclines his head your way and says in a voice deeper than you had expected, "Make the right choice."

You sit there as Jinu, Romance, and Mystery exit the room, leaving you alone with Baby. He pulls out his phone and starts scrolling, the screen illuminating his face.
