"ZARIA!?"
"I'm literally not supposed to be here, but Hal sent me to-" I was interrupted by Zatanna, Kaldur and Artemis tackling me into a hug. "Okay, okay! I missed you guys too!"
"Please tell me you're here to stay," Zatanna begged and I frowned, stepping back. "They still won't have you back!?"
"Technically I'm still in training in Oa and I don't have a good relationship with the League. Harnessing pure rage and willpower isn't as easy as I thought." I shrugged and heard someone cough behind me. "Right! Guys, this is Kyle Rayner. He's Hal's new protege."
"Hey," Kyle said, giving an awkward little wave and a sheepish smile.
"New protege!? Isn't dealing with you bad enough?" Artemis elbowed my side with a laugh.
"Poor kid got the Ring a few months back and is still trying to adjust. Kilowog has us training together since we're both still getting used to the whole willpower situation." I defended and glanced around. "Where's everyone else?"
"Nightwing and Robin are in Gotham after yet another toxin outbreak. The rest are on a mission." Kaldur said and I hummed. "But it truly is good to see you again, Zaria. We've missed you."
"Missed you too, fishstick," I said with a smirk, and Kaldur's amused sigh was enough to make my chest ache in the best way. "Feels weird being back, even if it's temporary."
"Temporary!?" Zatanna widened her eyes. "Zar, this can't-"
"For now, it is," I shrugged. "I agreed to help with Kyle's training when Hal's handling League business and I'm confined to Oa for the time being since I'm still being studied. I don't make the rules."
"And when she does, there's a yelling session between the Guardians, Hal, Laira and the rest of the Lanterns for days." Kyle rolled his eyes.
"It was one time and Laira backed me up!"
"Mogo has a crater!"
"I gave him personality! He doesn't get it by socializing, I'll tell you that much."
"He's a planet, Zaria!"
"Which proves that you have much to learn still. Have Hal tell you about Mogo and Bolphunga and then you'll probably understand."
