~Zaria's POV~
Eight months later
"You had to bring the scorpions?"
"I spent months eating Tamaranean cuisine. Leave my damn space scorpions alone," Kyle defended and ate another one. "You don't hear me talking shit about your zorka berries."
"You had the option to go back home when John left," I pointed out.
"And miss you threatening to kill Guy while mastering the Black Ring? Hell no!"
"You said you weren't afraid of me anymore," I reminded him.
"I still am. But that doesn't mean I wanna be on the wrong side of you."
"Smart man." I chuckled and froze once we reached the Watchtower. "Watch Batman go crazy when he realizes that he has to deal with me again."
"What is your beef with that man?" Kyle said, constructing his mask once we got closer.
"Other than the fact that it's his fault that I was away from my friends and forced to resign from the Team full of people who could actually understand and relate forcing me to get five additional years worth of trauma because I thought I was never going to be good enough? Geez, I have no clue, Kyle."

"Honey, I'm home!" I yelled and Batman visibly flinched. "Bats, my Dad told me to give you this since he's not here. He sends his best and demands a League meeting once he's back from Oa."
I grinned and handed him a letter.
Batman took the envelope like it might explode. He unfolded the letter slowly, scanning it with those razor-sharp eyes of his. I could practically hear him cataloguing threats, decoding implications, and evaluating my every movement all at once.
"Welcome back to the Team," was all he said before folding the letter. "Don't make me regret it."
"I'll do worse than that," I smirked. "I might just challenge your trust issues while you try and come up with a contingency plan against me... I know you've got quite a few of those."
"Well, look who it is," I heard M'gann's voice. "Someone got way too tall."
"And scary as shit," Kyle mumbled and I elbowed his side.
"Tends to happen when you're away for five years," I smiled and flew up to hug her, Connor, Zatanna and Raquel. "I missed you all so much!"
I laughed through the group hug, practically inhaling the warmth I'd been starved of for years. M'gann's arms were around me tighter than expected, Connor lifted me briefly off the ground like it was instinct, and Zatanna blinked away tears she would never admit to. Even Raquel smiled that rare, real smile, the kind she only gave to people she trusted.
