"It's weird," Mira says, absently toying with her boba's straw. She seems to get lost in her thoughts before she continues. "There's been a lot of demons lately. We've been exhausting ourselves between comebacks and fighting them..."
"I don't know how much longer I can do this," Zoey agrees. She slurps up a couple of pearls before leaning into her chair contently.
"I haven't encountered any demons really." You frown as you consider it. There's only been a few other than the Saja Boys. "Yeah, I've barely seen any."
"They must be targeting us," Rumi grumbles. "Trying to tire us out so we slip up. Gwi-Ma must be gathering more souls to enter this world, and wants us out of the way."
"This is why we need to kill him, and soon." You sigh and rub at your forehead to ward a headache away. It's just been a lot lately. The fans are demanding another comeback from the Saja Boys, plus all this demon nonsense.
You should give yourself a raise. Do you have the power for that?
"I've been thinking about that." Rumi fiddles with her hands in her lap. "How do you kill him? You said that he's just a giant, roaring fire."
"A fire extinguisher." Mira narrows her eyes. "A bucket of water."
"Uh, I don't think that'll work." Zoey taps her chin in contemplation. You can literally see her eyes light up as an idea hits her. "Demons have different forms, right? Like demon, human, et cetera. They're kind of like shapeshifters with their disguises."
"Yeah? What about it?" Mira tips her head, and the hair framing her face falls away.
"We force him into a form that we can kill. We just have to figure out a way to do that." Zoey's leg starts bouncing excitedly. She waved her hand as she talks, beginning to ramble. "We could taunt him! He's a king, so he must feel the need to prove himself to his subjects! Or- Or we challenge him!"
There's a knock at the door and a dull 'Pizza delivery' that drones out. You stop your discussion to answer.
Zoey skips over to the door and rips it open, grinning widely. "Hi!"
The young man standing there wordlessly hands over the box, looking very disinterested. He blows a bubble that pops with a loud thwup before he sighs. "We don't do returns, by the way. In case you were wondering."
"Yeah..." Rumi takes the box from Zoey and sets it down on the table. "We weren't wondering. But thanks."
He shrugs a shoulder before turning away. He pauses right as Zoey's shutting the door, clearing his throat. "Hey. Uh, are you those singers?"
"Yes, we are!" Zoey nods.
You cringe, silently judging Bobby for not checking with them thay they know not to tell strangers where they live. It's an easy mistake to make that destroys so much.
"Oh. Groovy." He chews his gum for a moment while an awkward silence stretches out. "Can I get a photo?"
"Um, not right now." Rumi shakes her head and starts to close the door.
"Please? My sister is such a big fan." The delivery man clasps his hands together. "It would be sick if you could do this."
"Groovy? Sick?" Mira murmurs, exchanging a look with you. She turns her gaze back at him, arching an eyebrow. "How old are you?"
"Um." He blinks a couple times. Then he twitches. "Two hundred! No, eight! I mean- I'm twenty-three!"
"Okay." Rumi unsheathes a glowing sword out of nowhere, holding the handle tightly. "You're a demon."
