"Zar! Visitors for you!"

"It's the middle of the night and I just got back from Gotham, who could possibly-"

"Only your best friend in the entire universe!" Kory grinned and tackled me to the ground. "I have missed you, my dearest friend!"

"And I'd say I miss you as well if you weren't crushing my windpipe!" I groaned, trying to push her off when another body dropped on top of me. "And who gained weight!?"

"I take offense to that, Zaria," Ryand'r laughed and my eyes widened. "When my sister told me she was planning a visit, I had to join in and see your life here on Earth."

"Okay, don't crush my sister. She just came back from date night," Kyle laughed, constructing a claw to get them both off me. "Speaking of, how was going out with Mr. Emotionally Distressed?"

"Gotham's quite nice when there isn't a psycho trying to kill you every five minutes. It was also nice to just have a day where we both didn't have to suit up for anything," I smiled and stood up. "We talked a lot about us... We actually have another date on Thursday."

"You are courting now?" Kory squealed, eyes glowing brighter than usual. "Oh, please tell me it was the boy I met that one time! Robin, I think it was?"

"He upgraded to Nightwing, Kory," I blushed and she squealed again. "And we're not courting yet... It's a lot more complicated than that."

"What's complicated about it?" Ryand'r asked. "If you two care for each other, then I do not see how-"

"A lot has happened since I came back to Earth. Combined that with the Team and the inner battles we both have... It truly is complicated."

"But he's trying," Kyle defended. "It's hard when he was raised to be emotionally detached and put the mission before anything else while she was raised to be a weapon and then treated like one... But he's definitely trying to be better. Dick even called me to make sure he got her the right flowers for her."

"This is glorious news! My best friend is being treated the way she deserves!" Kory clasped her hands together, practically bouncing where she stood while her brother visibly grimaced. " I must prepare you for your next courtship ritual!"

"Kory, no!" I nearly choked on my own spit. "This is not Tamaran! Humans don't do three-day bonding dances under the moons."

"Then what do they do?" Ryand'r tilted his head curiously. "Surely they must have a proper tradition for proving one's devotion."

"They buy each other flowers, apparently," Kyle snorted, plopping down on the couch. "Or in Dick's case, he panics and calls me for help because he doesn't know the difference between lilies and orchids... But I'll give him credit for it. He wanted to get the right ones."

"And did he look at you with the eyes of someone who has been starved of light but has finally found their sun?" Kory asked and I groaned.

"Kory, you cannot just say things like that!"
