"I wish we didn't have to leave... I have grown quite fond of Earth."

"You two have your duties and I have mine, Kory," I smiled sadly. "But we will see each other again... Hopefully soon."

"If you ever need us," Ryand'r said, "we are not far away, Zaria."

Kory hugged me so tightly my ribs were probably reconsidering their structural integrity.

"I truly wish we did not have to leave," she sighed dramatically. "Earth has... grown on me."

"Like a fungus," Ryand'r added with a perfectly straight face.

"Hey, same goes for Tamaran," Kyle defended and I rolled my eyes. "But the same goes for you two. If you ever need a Lantern, don't hesitate to call."

Kory pulled back just enough to cradle my face in her hands, eyes bright with that Tamaranean intensity that always made me feel seen.

"You are family," she said softly. "Distance does not change that. Not ever."

"You're going to make me cry and our brothers are going to make fun of us," I choked out.

"Absolutely," Ryand'r agreed instantly. "I am already preparing several jokes... But I will save them for later."

She turned back to me, brushing her thumbs across my cheeks.

"Do not hide your heart, Zaria. You shine brightest when you let it be seen."

That did it. My throat burned. I pulled her into another hug, burying my face in her shoulder as she wrapped me up like she always did: all warmth and fierce, overwhelming affection.

"I'll miss you," I whispered.

"And I you," she murmured.

Ryand'r stepped in next, pulling me from Kory and into one of his deceptively strong embraces.

"Try not to cause a universal incident while we're gone," he said into my hair.

"No promises."

"Good. It would be unlike you to stay out of trouble."

Kyle threw an arm around the three of us, dragging us into a completely uneven, chaotic group hug.

"I'm gonna miss the chaos twins," he admitted, pouting exaggeratedly. "Who am I supposed to annoy now?"

"I don't know," Ryand'r hummed thoughtfully. "Perhaps your sister? Or is she too busy mastering every color of the emotional rainbow?"

"HEY!"
