Fear the dark. Bar the doors. Don't breathe a word. Wait for the Hooded Men to save you. The people of Nictaven live in fear of the night; governed by magic no one save a few can control, in a land plagued by demons and cannibal tribes, and isolated from all other worlds for centuries, they're right to. Only the Unspoken, a secretive guild of warriors linked with the land and its magic, provide any safety when darkness falls. For centuries, it has stayed like this. But in an abandoned crypt worlds away, Jordan Haverford is about to change that. It wasn't quite the holiday he had been hoping for. Plunged into a world where who you are and what you believe can kill you, a world of demons and knives in the dark and wars fought from behind the doors of the rich, Jordan's gentle Oxford upbringing isn't quite sufficient preparation. Instantly a pawn in a deadly game, separated from his sister and watched from the shadows by an assassin with a vendetta, he finds himself in the company of an Unspoken who has an uncanny knack for finding the Gifted - and Jordan can't seem to get rid of him. For centuries, humanity battled its own demons-war, destruction, the ever-present shadow of extinction. But against all odds, it endured. Nations united, wounds healed, and a single banner rose above the entire Earth: United Earth Government and later the United Federation of Planets. By the year 2288, humanity had transformed from a fractured species into a galactic civilization. The Federation stretched across the stars, its influence reaching every corner of the Milky Way. It was an era of peace, progress, and unmatched technological triumph. And yet... they were alone. No matter how far their ships traveled or how many worlds they surveyed, there was no sign of other intelligent life. The universe vast, ancient, and beautiful remained eerily silent. Theories once whispered in academic circles, the "Great Filter," the "Rare Earth" now loomed large and terrifying. Was intelligence a cosmic accident? Was humanity the only one to make it this far? Then, everything changed. On the eve of humanity's historic voyage to Andromeda (M31). As their science vessel prepared for its journey across 2.6 million light years, something unprecedented occurred. In a flash, space itself seemed to twist and fold, as the Milky Way merged with another galaxy in instant, one far larger and older than their own. Now, in this strange, limitless frontier, humanity's greatest adventure was only just beginning. Would they adapt and survive, or uncover something beyond their wildest understanding? Only time would reveal the truth... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heavily influenced by Nihonkoku Shoukan by Minorou, Anime GATE and various nation summoned novels here in wattpad. Bai adored the spotlight. Night after night of awed gasps and amazed cheers as he flew through the air with his acrobatics troupe and their exceedingly well practiced routine. On stage, he was a ghost, a phantom for the hero to defeat. With his flowing white hair, the shrill cry of his flute, and the fluttering of his ornate costume aided by his own wind magic, he made quite the spectacle. Off stage, life had been unchanged for as long as he could remember. With poor vision that left him unfit for many kinds of labor, he'd been sold to the traveling circus at a young age by his poor family. Everything for his use was always in the same spot, everything always the same bright colors. Life off stage, outside of practice, consisted of such exciting tasks as using his wind magic to keep the flies out of the mess tent, and helping the never ending quantities of laundry to dry. Indentured to the show, raised by the stage, he'd never known anything else. He'd never considered anything else. But one fateful night when a wealthy foreign noble has all the other performers anxious to perform their best, Bai learns he's still able to be bought and sold. Whether he wants it or not, heir to the throne of Gelsan, Prince Kamau, is going to thrust Bai onto an entirely different stage... This story can also be found on Royal Road 👋

For all who find life too strange, may these pages understand you better than reality ever could. Hi ! I'm Maukie. The world is a bit heavy to carry alone, or just too real to be fun. That's probably why you're reading, and that's why I'm writing. So within The Last Fate exists a reality that offers a place to anyone who has ever felt lost in their own. I could not stop the ruins that life left in people's hearts, but I reclaimed those ruins to build a universe, and through my characters and their journeys, I hope readers will find their own reasons to survive the apocalypse. Not the one in my book, but the one they carry inside themselves. And of course, if you want to know more about the context of the story outside of this excerpt, here is a brief summary : « Two centuries after the laws of light and darkness broke, the world is dying, cruelty is rising, crowns are falling, and the sky is collapsing, the four great powers believe they are the last, but a fifth power exists, forcing them to choose whether to die with their world or sacrifice themselves to save it. » I don't know if there will actually be any readers, but if you've made it this far, know that you're making my dream a little more real than yesterday.

Before the first chapter of The Spider's Truth ever begins, whispers are already spreading through the kingdom of Celestria. Whispers of unease. Of doubt. Of people beginning to notice cracks in the foundation of faith that has ruled their lives for generations. This series gathers those whispers, letting you, the reader, decide what is fact and what is fabricated. Anonymous letters, some are confessions, others desperate pleas. Notes tucked under temple doors, nailed to market stalls, passed hand-to-hand in quiet terror. Each letter comes from an ordinary citizen living under a holy tithe they cannot escape and a crown that demands more every season. None of the writers know the whole truth, only that something is wrong, and that getting caught speaking of it means death. A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: These letters take place in the world of my upcoming fantasy novel, The Spider's Truth, but you do not need to know the story to read them. They stand on their own, small windows into a kingdom built on fear, debt, and secrets no one dares speak aloud. These letters do not spoil the events of my novel. Instead, they explore the world around it: the fear, the tension, the questioning, and the small acts of defiance that begin the bubbling of rebellion in the shadows long before a story truly begins. Thank you for reading! -Ann

Wandering but not lost, crisis manager and logistician, flameborn, anointed of the star, prey of the Wild Hunt, friend of a daemon, an emissary of Eden, and an alien cat - all this is Lex. He finds himself in a ringworld, right in the center of a tightening political knot. Will he be able to study the system, navigate this strange world, and protect his friends and his new home without going mad? Of course he can. Where have you ever seen a LitRPG where the hero loses halfway through? What else is here that couldn't be seamlessly integrated into the main blurb: Part of my book universe. Action. A biome inspired by the mythologies of England, Ireland, and Scotland. A flexible role-playing system closer to single-player RPGs. Have you ever heard of an attribute matrix? Thick humor with tiny hints of drama. Literary references. There are many mysteries, but I know most of the answers, and the ones I don't, I'll find along the way. Very long, judging by the paсing and my plans.

A BREATH OF SPRING "Everything he swore to protect would become his end." In the lands of Albion, peace is but an illusion hidden in the shadow of swords. As the young and proud Achilles rises to legend with his 'god-like' prowess-bringing even the most formidable Lords to their knees-he carries within his soul only the silent storms of his mentor, Thena. Yet, the radiance of fame is not enough to shroud the encroaching darkness of an ancient prophecy. Every drop of blood spilled under the cold light of the Blue Moon will rewrite Albion's fate, never to be erased again. On one side stands a Guardian bound by unwavering loyalty; on the other, a Knight staining his own destiny in blood. As the dark path drags them toward an irreversible end, the ultimate question remains: Which is sharper: Love, or Latenya steel?

Once, the world was ordered. Or so the histories claim. Beyond the veil of recorded time lie continents shaped by judgment and fire, seas ruled by unseen hands, and skies claimed by those who decide who may rise and who must fall. Empires stand upon foundations they no longer remember building, guarded by powers they only half understand. Between Paradise abandoned and Hell yet unclaimed stretches a long descent-through nations hardened by conquest, through truths buried so deeply they have become law. Old oaths fracture. Ancient forces stir. And what was erased from memory begins to walk again. This is not a tale of salvation. It is the chronicle of a world moving, step by step, toward its reckoning.
